I really enjoy 'plein air' painting and Florence, Chianti and Tuscany provide me with endless subjects and inspiration. Observing and sketching from real is a great and pleasant exercise. I find that it is even more important today, as we tend to take many photos and hurry away, while instead taking time to stop and observe, smell, listen and really feel a place will give us a much more fulfilling experience and memory.
I always carry my sketchbook and colors with me when I travel.
Some of the these landscape paintings are imaginary and tend towards abstraction, but they are usually always based on sketches and studies from real and connected to places I know and love. Water and sea have a special place in my heart, and I love to paint them over and over again.
